Day 59: Water Lily

July 25, 2019

There's something magical about water lilies: maybe it's the way the flowers float on the water; maybe it's the way the leaves make perfect little chairs for frogs; or maybe it's just the way they have, for me, come to represent summer at the lake.

I often see people fishing in areas with lots of lily pads. This is because, as I've learned recently, lily pads make a great habitat for fish, especially largemouth bass and sunfish. I discovered this water lily in White Bear Lake today.
