Day 69: What a Ride!

August 4th, 2019

Today I am thinking back to some of my all-time favorite outdoor memories. This one was fairly recent, just last June, and what a time it was. The trip was already exciting- and we hadn't even gotten to the island yet. On our way to Catalina Island we were loving the views of the Pacific Ocean when we caught a glimpse of dolphins in the wake of the boat. Pacific bottlenose dolphins like to eat the squid that live near the island, so they stay in the area year-round. Pacific dolphins are larger and darker than dolphins that live in the Atlantic and it was great to see them. We were sure they would bring good luck to our trip, and I believe they really did.
